Inter House Debate

Competition is useful up to a certain point and no further, but discussion and cooperation is to be strived for today, it begins where competition leaves off.

Freedom to be vociferous and present your perspective is the best part of a democracy as it has been rightly said: “It is better to debate a question without settling it than to settle a question without debating it.”

To hone the oratory skills of the children, an inter house debate competition was organized on 27th July, 2017. The young debaters expressed their standpoints on the topic “Social movements should use courts rather than the legislature to advance social changes.” Participants of all the seven houses presented their arguments either in favour or against the motion.

The following students won the positions under various categories as they expressed their views impressively and effectively emphasizing on the need to bring about social changes amicably.

Farewell 2016-17

Fare thee well, wherever you dwell

Dear Students

A farewell is always such a special occasion…. I am delighted as well as bit nostalgic today. Delighted because the responsibility that we took on years ago, is on the verge of fulfillment and nostalgic because the students will be leaving us for a new beginning in their lives.
We - the school, the teachers and the proud parents, have continuously strived together with a common purpose in mind - to encourage and develop lifelong learning in the young ignited minds who sit before us this morning. Congratulations, we are  proud of you all!
Children, you taught us that every single person in our school can be a leader.  You never outrightly said this to me, but you never had to.  You showed it in your actions everyday.  The kindness, social proactiveness, liveliness and all the wonderful things that you did in and around the school not only inspired your peers, but it inspired the staff as well.  Watching you on the playground look after our younger students and care for them was something that inspired me every day.

Another thing which I want to mention is that during your stay in this school you have learnt two big lessons called sacrifice and firmness. Yes! you have sacrificed the desires of youth. You have sacrificed your stylish looks, you have done without mobile phones and bikes, do not do this, do that, the list was long….But my dear children this sacrifice and persistence will be needed in the difficult times.

You are now at a cross road where you need to take decisions independently with fortitude. Make your alma mater proud of you and keep the school name high with your achievements, deeds and actions. In the race of life do not forget to be a good human being. Always display compassion, sympathy and tolerance
Wherever you go, whatever you do, stay in touch and keep us aware of all your successes. Wishing each one of you good luck in the forth coming board examination and blessing each one of you endlessly.
My congratulations to the students of class XI for striving to put up a brilliant show. Your enthusiasm to perform in making this day special for your seniors was remarkable and praiseworthy.

The Class XII students have now passed the baton of responsibility to you and children, now the onus is on you live up to the legacy of DPSG. I hope you will shoulder this responsibility with utmost dedication and sincerity.

With your final exams around the corner  you need to get down to serious studies. Do well and come out wih flying colours as your performance in XI is as important as in class XII.

All the best and god bless.
