UNIC Competition

Dhruv Maheshwari, Pranav Agrawal, VIIIE and Preksha Singh, VIIA secured the 3rd position and were awarded a cash prize of Rs. 15000 in the United Nation Information Centre for India and Bhutan - Change Climate Change. The project was Mitigating Air Pollution in Delhi.

CBSE National Shooting Competition

Congratulations!
CBSE National Shooting Competition was held at Sunbeam Academy, Varanasi from 27th November, 2016 to 2nd December, 2016 wherein Sampada Sood, VIIIA, Devanshi Dhama, VIIIE and Niharika Singh, IX I bagged a gold medal each in 10 m Air Pistol event. (Category – U-14) Devanshi Dhama also won a individual silver medal in 10 m Air Pistol Event.

DPSGS Sports & Cultural Fest 2016

The DPSG Society organized the Inter DPSG School Athletic Meet and Performing Arts Summit at DPSG Meerut Road campus on 16th and 17th December 2016. The event saw participants of all DPSG Society schools compete in various athletic and cultural events. About 1250 enthusiasts from 7 schools of DPSG Society came together ona common platform to celebrate excellence in sports, music and dance. The dignitaries to grace the inaugural ceremony were Mr Chandrashekhar, SangathanMantri, BJP, Mr. Gaurav Garg, Member BJP, Mr AnshulPathak, Vice Chairman & Treasurer, DPSG Society, Mr. Rohit Pathak, Member, DPSG Society and Principals of DPSGS group of schools.

In her address, Principal Ms. Jyoti Gupta welcomed the participating schools and thanked the Management of the DPSG Society for organizing such events which help in building the camaraderie, team spirit and sportsmanship of the students.

The programme began with the march past by the school contingents followed by the oath ceremony administered by Mr Anshul Pathak. He wished the participants and advised them to participate in the event with true sportsmanship. The Chief Guest appreciated the discipline and organizational skills of  the school and  urged the students to be  patriotic  by  saving   the natural resources and curbing the ills of the society.

DPSGS Sports & Cultural Fest 2016 - Valedictory Ceremony

The valedictory ceremony of the Inter DPSG School Athletic Meet and Performing Arts Summit at DPSG Meerut Road campus  was held on 17th December 2016. The dignitaries who  graced the  ceremony were  Shri  Dronacharya  Gurcharan Singh, a veteran in the field of cricket; Mr Anshul Pathak, Vice Chairman& Treasurer, DPSG Society; Mr R K Sharma CAO and Joint Secretary DPSG Society  and Principals of  DPSG  group of schools.

The last two days saw the grounds of DPSG  abuzz with a mammoth  number of 188 track and field events  in  under 14,  under 16 and under 18 categories as school contingents from 7 DPSG schools fought it out for the coveted trophy. The event came to a close with a glittering prize distribution ceremony. A spectacular field show was held to mark the culmination of the two day long Sports Meet.

In her address, Principal Ms Jyoti Gupta complimented the winners for their remarkable achievements and advised the participants to not get discouraged from failure but take lesson  and keep on striving till they achieve success.

 In the cultural events DPSG Vasundhara bagged first position in Fusion Dance Competition and  in the Music Competition, the first prize was shared by DPSGV and Selaqui International. But the maximum number of medals were won by the host school DPSG, Meerut Road thereby winning the Championship Trophy.  DPSGI was the runner up team whereas Selaqui International was placed  third. The Chief Guest appreciated the students for displaying exemplary sporting  skills, complimented the winners and the participants alike as according to him it’s not winning that matters  but the fact the participation. Mr Anshul Pathak  expressed his pleasure in the meticulous organization of the meet and  offered wholehearted   support of the  Management in events which help in honing the latent skills of the students. He also said that such events provide immense fun and enjoyment besides inculcating competitive spirit. The event came to a close with the National Anthem.

SPIC MACAY

Kathak Performance by Ms. Rani Khanam

Under the aegis of Spic Macay, the students of Secondary Wing witnessed an enthralling Kathak performance by Ms. Rani Khanam on 15th December, 2016. Ms Rani Khanam along with the musicians was accorded a traditional welcome. The renowned and distinguished star held everyone spell bound with her marvellous portrayal of extraordinary rhythmic sense and grace. She not only explained the nuances and complexities of the dance but also demonstrated it through a mesmerizing performance. The students enjoyed watching the Kathak dance recital and learnt a lot about the dance form, the various body postures and mudras.

SOCIAL SCIENCE WEEK

At DPSG, the focus is on constructively using the passion, power and abilities of the youngsters to bring out the best in them. With this idea, Social Science Week was celebrated in the Secondary Wing from 5th December to 9th December wherein the students actively participated in an array of activities.

The activities conducted were Making of Newspaper on Demonitization, Poster Making on Human Rights, Slogan Writing on Swachchh Bharat Abhiyaan, Board Making on Demonitization, Mock Parliament, Fancy Dress Competition, Extempore and Debate on social issues. The guest lecture on Geography enhanced their knowledge on the subject. The week long celebrations concluded with students preparing models on green energy and clean energy. The week ended on a good note and hopes for a better and more democratic way of facilitating students for participating in contemporary national and international issues.

Special Assembly On Christmas

The much awaited festival ‘Christmas’ was celebrated with great zeal in the Secondary Wing. Students of class IX G conducted a Special Assembly. They narrated the interesting facts related to Christmas and through a story depicted the significance of the festival. It was a beauteous moment with children propounding the traditional values attached with the festival. The assembly culminated with a mellifluous carol rendition by the choir group and Santa giving gifts to the children. A wave of cheer enveloped the school surroundings, spreading the message of faith, happiness and peace.

MUN - IMS GHAZIABAD

A delegation of 22 students from both Secondary and Senior Secondary Wings under the guidance of Mr R.N Mohapatra participated in a two day Model United Nations conference organized by IMS Ghaziabad on 16th and 17th December, 2016 wherein students from DPSG stole the show. Five students were ajudged the best delegates across different committees. The school team also bagged the best delegation award.

PRESS RELEASE- SCHOLAR BADGE CEREMONY- 2016

In a solemn ceremony held in DPSG Meerut Road on 29th December 2016 around 1100 students from classes VI –XII were awarded scholar badges in recognition of their  outstanding academic excellence. The dignitaries to grace the occasion were Dr. Satyapal Singh, Member of Parliament, Mr Sudhir Chaudhary, Mahamantri, Western UP, BJP Unit and Mr Anshul Pathak, Vice Chairman and Treasurer, DPSG Society. Parents and kin of the young scholars were also invited who proudly witnessed their wards receiving honours.  The students who were awarded scholar badges for three years were given   blue blazers whereas   six year scholars were awarded blue ties as a hallmark of their academic brilliance.

Principal Ms. Jyoti Gupta congratulated the proud winners and said that  the school nurtures the students in such a way that they excel in life and remain beautiful human beings.  Dr Satyapal Singh gave invaluable lessons of life by telling the students that education is about imparting essential life skills to the students so that they become good human beings. Mr Anshul Pathak expressed his belief that success should be managed in such a way that it qualifies an individual to bring a positive  impact on others.
The programme concluded  with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Mr Akashdeep Sharma, Headmaster, Senior Wing.  

IT Week

IT Week was celebrated in the Secondary Wing wherein students participated in an array of activities enthusiastically. Class 7 students prepared posters using Photoshop on Artificial Intelligence. Students also had a session on Game Development. Students from class 8 prepared posters and banners on the topic- Cyber Crime, Cyber Law and Safe Internet. Students from class 9 participated in the Gaming Competition.

IT Events

On 26th December, 2016, students of class X attended a session on Paradigm Shift in Computing Technology, ICT & its application – Technical, Social, Economic and Environmental Perspective by Dr Sunil Pandey, Director (IT) – Institute of Technology & Science, ITS, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad. Class VIII students participated in a rally on 27th December for creating awareness on ‘Safe Internet’.

British Council

On 7th of December, Delhi Public School Ghaziabad hosted a meeting of thirteen assistant teachers from British Council along with Mr. Arjun Bahadur, Assistant Director British Council of India. The teachers who attended the meeting were Lawrence Alexandra, Lucie Rae Cullinane, Anna Hough, Rachel Russel, Anna Stringer, Rebecca Wimby, Melissa White, Cecil Grove, Emily Grove, Amy Beckon, HopeEP Rapp, Charles Hugh, Thomas Wilkinson.  They were felicitated with handmade paintings and eco-friendly bouquets. The guest teachers introduced themselves and shared their learning experiences through PPT’s. They also sang a carol. Mr. Thomas Wilkinson , assistant teacher at DPSG looked after the overall arrangement of  the meeting.

Delhi Public School Ghaziabad organized the annual cultural extravaganza titled Ashok Chakravarti Dhammarakhit Samrat on 26th   and 27th November, 2016.

The Honourable Guests Ms Mridula Sinha, Governer of Goa; Dr Vinnie Jauhari, Director-Education Advocacy, Microsoft Corporation (India) Pvt. Ltd, graced the occasion on 26th November, 2016. Mr Milan Hovorka, Ambassador, Embassy of Czech Republic; Mr Ashu Verma, Mayor, Ghaziabad; Ms Mrinalini Singh, D/o Gen. V.K. Singh; Mr Santosh Yadav, MD, Noida Metro graced the occasion on 27th November, 2016.

The members of DPSG Society Mr. Om Pathak (Founder &Chairman); Ms Niharika Pathak, Chairperson, DPSG, Meerut Road; Mr. Anshul Pathak, Vice Chairman &Treasurer, DPSG Society; Mr Rohit Pathak, Member, DPSG Society; Mr R.K.Sharma, CAO & Joint Secretary, DPSG Society were among the other esteemed guests.

 Principal, Ms Jyoti Gupta in her address stated that the ethos of the school rests in the strong sense of standing together as a family, to encourage the students to dream big so that they develop valuable life skills and become independent, resilient and confident individuals.  Stating his vision for the school, Mr. Om Pathak, stated that the school aims to have a more vibrant connect with the community and the parents. He also stated that the school caters to the needs of the society by equipping its students with confidence, discipline and decision making ability to act and achieve their goals. He also emphasized on the need for a dynamic education process and urged the youth to dream big to achieve substantial.

The programme commenced with the auspicious lighting of the lamp by the Honourable Guests and the Management Members of the DPSG Society. Thereafter, the students of Senior Wing presented the annual report listing the year long achievements of the institution in various fields.

The cultural fiesta witnessed participation of students from classes VII & VIII on 26th November and classes IX & X on 27th November. The home enterprise, a theatrical dance drama Ashok Chakravarti Dhammarakhit Samrat mesmerized the audience with unmatched synchrony, rhythm and finesse. It reverberated with the message that as good human beings one must endeavour to master the minds before one is enslaved by it.

The programme was a grand success. Ms Krishna Singh, Headmistress, Secondary wing   proposed the vote of thanks.
